The City of Jefferson City is currently in discussion with Cole County about the possibility of reconstructing the Militia Drive rail crossing. This work would be part of an ongoing work on the rail spur at Morris Packaging at 6850 Algoa Rd. The city and county current have an agreement to share the costs of the work extending the rails services to Morris Packaging however, through the construction it was discovered the crossing also needed to be replaced. If Cole County signs a change order with contractor RailWorks Track Services the reconstruction would cost $141,000.
