Runge Nature Center

Put on your hiking shoes and travel to Cosmo Park in Columbia to join a guided hike along the Bear Creek Trail. Trail: Four miles, easy. Meet at the Runge Nature Center and follow our hike leaders to the location or meet at the trailhead. Hike leaders will contact participants before the hike to give directions if needed. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, and pack a lunch/snack. Masks are required. Registration required. Ages 18 and up.

American Legion Post 5

Every Wednesday through January, serving 5-7 p.m. Barbecue, hot, Asian and plain wings. 75 cents each. Sides $1. Happy hour from 4:30-6:30. Public welcome.

Windstone Entertainment Center

The dance band “Shades of Blue” will be playing their classic 50’s, 60’s and 70’s country, rock, R&B and pop. Jay Finley will be on bass/vocals, David Schwarzer on drums/vocals, and Tom Whittle on guitar/keyboards/vocals

Marion Access

Venture over to Marion Access, north of Jefferson City, to get a chance to view wild Bald Eagles and learn about their conservation success. Runge will provide spotting scopes and binoculars. This program is limited in participants due to the COVID pandemic. Registration is required and everyone participating MUST register in only one time slot. All Ages. Directions will be e-mailed to participants before the program. Time slots at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon. 

Binder Park

Trumpeter Swans are the largest and one of the most beautiful birds in Missouri. A conservation success story, this bird fought its way back from a population of 69 in 1935 to well over 63,000 in North America. Celebrate this magnificent comeback by observing these swans at Binder Lake in Jefferson City through provided spotting scopes and binoculars (if needed). The Promise Gala is a new fundraising event focused on supporting the work of Central Missouri Community Action (CMCA). You will enjoy good food, wine, and beer and learn about the many services offered through CMCA. You will also hear from and meet a family that was positively impacted by CMCA and who is now giving back through their work with the organization.

The largest bridal show in Central Missouri was originally planned for January but is now scheduled for Feb. 28 at a new larger location - and The Linc in Jefferson City. Exhibit hours are noon-4 p.m. The spectacular runway show is 3:30 p.m. Admission is $5. (5 years old and under free.)
